Socket your 17x17mm, 1mm pitch LGA packages on target board with performance equivalent to direct solder version
Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new LGA socket design using high performance elastomer capable of 94 GHz, very low inductance for test applications. The GTP-LGA-1003 socket is designed for 17×17 mm package size, 16×16 array, 1mm pitch and operates at bandwidths up to 94 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with hardware and no soldering. It uses very small real estate allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed close by. This socket utilizes swivel lid with heat sink compression screw. To use, place device inside the socket and apply compression by turning the heat sink screw.
The GTP-LGA-1003 socket is constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor with protective layer. Protective layer prevents elastomer from contamination and solder migration. Since the cleaning of protective layer is very simple, testing downtime is reduced significantly. The temperature range is -55 °C to +160 °C. Works with IC’s such as LGA255, 17x17mm, 16×16 array with 1mm pitch.
