Socket your 10x10mm, 0.5mm pitch LGA packages on ATE board with performance equivalent to direct solder version
Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new LGA socket design using high performance elastomer capable of 94 GHz, very low inductance for ATE applications. The GTP-LGA-1002 socket is designed for 10×10 mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 94 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering, and uses very small real estate allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed close by. This socket utilizes swivel lid for initial setup. Once the test program is verified, lid is removed along with the protruded screws. Then, handler accomplishes inserting devices into the socket 500K+ times.
The GTP-LGA-1002 socket is constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor with protective layer. Protective layer prevents elastomer from contamination and solder migration.
Since the cleaning of protective layer is very simple, equipment downtime is reduced significantly.
The temperature range is -55°C to +160°C. Works with IC’s such as LGA56, 10x10mm with dual row of pads per side with 0.5mm pitch.
